The Spring 1990 exhibition Re-enactment: Between Self and Other focussed on the material means by which six contemporary Canadian artists – Carl Beam, Panya Clark, Stan Douglas, Janice Gurney, Barbara Lounder, and Lani Maestro – attempted to renegotiate definitions of cultural identity, especially in the context of the art gallery and the museum.
This 40-page softcover catalogue features images of the exhibited work, as well as an introduction by curator Barbara Fischer and profiles on each of the exhibiting artists.
