On view from 1 May – 17 June in 1987, the opening exhibition of The Power Plant, Toronto: A Play of History (Jeu d’histoire) focused on Toronto’s artistic community. It was an exhibition with strong points of view, an exhibition that would make a statement about what has taken place in Toronto in the previous ten years prior, and posit interpretations of the artworks and their resonance.
This 174-page softcover catalogue is a landmark in The Power Plant’s history, featuring images of work by the many exhibiting artists. It also includes text by Director William J.S. Boyle, Associate Director and Chief Curator Louise Dompierre and the various artists artists.
