This series of eight photographic portraits was produced in association with the exhibition Candice Breitz: Same Same. The series features portraits of seven pairs of identical twins and one set of identical triplets, all of whom appear in Breitz’s commissioned video project Factum. Generously supported by Toronto benefactors Partners in Art, the commission was produced in Toronto and examines the many ways twins distinguish themselves in a world that places great value on individuality. Through its exploration of likeness and difference, Factum expands on Breitz’s ongoing interest in the relationship between original and copy, as well as the performance of identity that permeates her work.Product Information
